Cosatu’s spokesperson, Sizwe Pamla says the trade union federation is prepared to work with President Cyril Ramaphosa’s reshuffled cabinet.

President Ramaphosa announced changes to the national executive of the country on Thursday evening.

The big changes in the ministers of different government departments include Finance Minister Tito Mboweni and Health Minister Zweli Mkhize, who have both stepped down.

Enoch Godongwana takes over as Finance Minister and Joe Phaahla as Health Minister.

Pamla says they will give all the new appointees a fair chance and wish them well.

He says: “We are not going to judge people before they have even been shown their own offices. Let everyone be given a fair chance, the ones who were removed they were given the same chance and after an assessment of sorts the President decided that he needed new people. Give the new people time to settle and let them talk about their performance that will be fair to South Africa and it will also be fair to them.”
