Remains believed to be those of six-year-old Junior Mabandla, who went missing last month in Pienaar outside Mbombela in Mpumalanga, have been found buried in another person’s grave.

Residents apprehended a man on Wednesday afternoon who was allegedly burning human body parts. He apparently revealed where he had buried Mabandla.

Police confirmed that Mabandla’s remains, with some body parts missing, were found.

Police spokesperson Donald Mdluli said the suspect will also assist in finding another 3-year-old child who recently went missing.

Mdluli says, “He is apprehended under police guard and we were also informed of the two incidents where Junior Mabandla’s remains were found at that graveyard. In the early hours of this morning, the remains were taken, and the family confirmed the clothes he was wearing. The other three-year-old who went missing yesterday, today her body will be exhumed.”
