Six teachers to be laid to rest after taxi, truck crash in Polokwane

Six of the ten teachers who died in a horrific collision between a minibus-taxi and a truck are being laid to rest at several villages in the Moletjie area outside Polokwane in Limpopo.

The deceased being laid to rest include the two Mpyana sisters, Asnath and Priscilla.

They will be buried at Kgohloane village.

The teachers were among the 13 victims who were killed in a collision on the Polokwane-Dendron road on Tuesday.

They were travelling to work in the Senwabarwana area.

Another victim, a teacher, Kwena Teffo, was laid to rest at Seshego Zone 5 on Saturday.

The taxi and truck drivers, as well as an Eskom employee, are among the deceased.

Education MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya and her transport counterpart Florence Radzilani have sent their condolences to the bereaved families.
