Police are investigating an incident in which four people were killed when a bakkie they were travelling in overturned on the N3 in the Free State yesterday.
The vehicle was enroute from Kokstad in KwaZulu-Natal to Gauteng.
Five other people were injured, three of them critically. The Free State Emergency Services spokesperson, Sipho Towa, provided details on the incident.
Towa says, “On arrival at the scene, emergency services found that three people were critically injured and two were moderately injured. Patients were transported to Alberton Hospital in Gauteng and Mafube Hospital in Frankfort.”
“Unfortunately, four occupants were declared dead on scene. We send our condolences to the families that have lost their loved ones. Emergency services are still busy on the scene with the recovery,” Towa states.
