Heavy rain in the Little Karoo region of the Western Cape has caused widespread flooding and led to several road closures.
Traffic authorities have closed the road between Oudtshoorn, the Cango Caves and between Oudtshoorn and Mossel Bay due to rock falls.
The road between Oudtshoorn and De Rust remains closed after part of the road collapsed. The Oudtshoorn municipality says this occurred between Oude Muragie and Le Roux station.
Motorists are advised to use the Langkloof route as an alternative. The road will be closed for most of the day as repairs continue.
The Meiringspoort Pass and the Swartberg Pass have also been closed to traffic.
Motorists are hereby advised to please make use of the Langkloof route as an alternative.
Part of the road between Oude Muragie and Le Roux station collapsed. Motorists/Truckdrivers are advised to not make use of this road under any circumstances.
