The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) predicts 220 000 new cancer cases by 2030.
As Corporate Wellness Week runs from July 1st to July 5th, CANSA has been visiting various corporate companies nationwide to educate and screen employees about cancer and other non-communicable diseases.
CANSA National Manager Lorraine Govender says it’s important to have regular check-ups.
“The first week of July, we normally set aside to promote our corporate wellness week and it is quite important because if you think about it, many of them are employed and it’s very difficult for them to go for life-saving cancer screening.”
“So this provides the corporate the opportunity to allow CANSA to come in and do cancer screening for their employees to have a healthy workforce,” adds Govender.
