The inclement weather in some parts of the Eastern Cape has proven to be a challenge for IEC officials as they made home visits.

Mazeppa Bay along the Wild Coast, where a river flooded, has made it difficult to reach three eligible voters.

IEC chief, Khayakazi Magudumana says contact has been made with the affected voters to reach them by Tuesday, with assistance from disaster management teams.

She says the only voting station that couldn’t open is Mahobe Junior Secondary in Qumbu.

Ten tent sites opened late due to delays by the service provider at Buffalo City Metro.
