ANC President Jacob Zuma says the ruling party has a plan to deal decisively with the problems of municipalities after the elections.

Zuma was addressing a campaign rally in Graaf Reinet in the Eastern Cape. The small town of Graaf Reinet is predominantly a coloured community whose votes the ANC is pushing hard to garner.

The ANC has a two seat majority to the DA in the local council.

People in Graaf Reinet are faced with challenges of poverty and unemployment.

President Zuma urged them to vote for the ANC and promised the party would sort out their challenges after the elections. “We are in the process of improving the quality of the lives of our people. We have plans to deal with the problems of municipalities therefore vote for the ANC.”

He discouraged people from voting for smaller parties, dismissing their leaders as only wanting to be in Parliament to oppose the ANC.
