Some ARA members picket outside Gauteng results operations centre

A handful of members and supporters of the African Restoration Alliance (ARA) have held a picket outside the Gauteng results operations centre in Alberton, south of Johannesburg.

They claim that they have picked up several discrepancies by the IEC, which they claim has affected their results both provincially and nationally.

With the counting of votes almost complete in Gauteng, ARA is currently sitting on point zero three of a percent.

“There is so much of discrepancies and irregularities on the ground that suggests that the results that are displayed on the scoreboards they are not the true reflection of what ARA is expecting. And because of the expectations that we picked up on voting stations that has affected us across the country, that is why we decided to come here to display our dissatisfaction to IEC and tell the voters on the ground because they wanted ARA to govern. But the IEC has a way to silence us due to the irregularities that were not accounted for,” says ARA’s, Freddy Mabuza.
