Almost four hours after the voting stations officially closed in South Africa’s 2019 national and provincial government elections, the IEC has released the results of 328 voting districts across the country. That makes up slightly more than one percent of the 22 925 voting districts that has to be counted to get a final results.

All of the nine provinces have filed some results, but the Eastern Cape has counted the most so far, with 160 voting districts sending their reports through to the IEC results center in Tshwane.

Some result predictions are expected when around five percent of the votes have been counted.
